Card Slump

I've been a little blue lately. I guess it's because the weather is changing and the last few days have been rather gloomy. Since my body thrives on sunshine and warm breezes, it tends to disagree with the cold, dark and damp days. I know, I know, you can't control the weather, but I can't help it that I'm wired to function better when it's sunny and warm. I mean, there is a whole condition out there for those of us who need those UV rays. They even make lights to sit under in the winter time!

That said, this would be where I need to try and think of some things I'm really grateful for and am enjoying to help me gain perspective. So, the positive side of Fall is everything pumpkin flavored! So far, I have made pumpkin muffins, pumpkin spice lattes, a pumpkin quesadilla, and just for good measure, I made squash pudding (squash is kinda like pumpkin, right)? I also enjoy being able to wear jeans again. There's just something amazingly cozy about putting on those jeans for the first time after the summer. And, the best part of Fall is campfires!!! Due to the summer-long drought we had, we were on a burn ban. We have a big pile of tree branches just waiting to be burned.

Having had said blues, I'm finding it incredibly difficult to be creative, and to think outside the box. I'm officially in a card making slump. But, I still submitted to Paper Crafts and thought I would share some of what I made with you today since I KNOW my poor blog hasn't had much inspiration for you lately.

This card was created by stamping a white paper sack. I then stuffed the bag with batting and quilted it.

The colorful pieces on this card are, you guessed it, SMARTIES candy! I loved this card, but I guess it probably wouldn't last too long since it's perishable.

There you have it. I hope you enjoyed looking today. Have a happy Monday!

  1. Your cards are wonderful. Don't let a magazine not picking up your work discourage you. You inspired people who visit your blog -- don't forget that!

  3. Such cool cards Jax! I love the smarties one...too cute. I was excited to put on my jeans too...until they didn't fit. ACK. So, until they fit again ('cause something isn't right)....I went and bought some nice comfy ones that have some room in them. ;)
