CSS Review: DISCO PARTAY!

Confession time; I LOVE DISCO! I love the fun beats, I love the tacky clothes and I love the bright colors and incredible statements made during that era. I also found while researching for this project that many of the games I grew up loving to play were also born in the 70's; Hungry Hippos, Life, Connect Four and Monopoly. If I had to choose a decade that I'd like to live in, this would be the one. Hey, don't hate. To each his own, right?

Well, I just so happen to have a birthday coming up in about a month and I've been pondering doing something big and way out there. I'd LOVE to have a disco party where everyone comes dressed up in their funkiest clothes and we sit and listen to Disco music ALL NIGHT LONG! Yeah, that would pretty much be my dream.

Since I'm dreaming here, I came up with an invite, a super groovy party favor and a way to label all of my 70's inspired foods at my party. So, the first thing I think of when I think Disco is that bright and vibrant light up dance floor. I tried to capture that in my invite.

I used the SHAPE: SQUARES dies and a fun font called Alba that I found at www.dafont.com. Since we are dancing the night away, I think having a nice, little glow bracelet as a party favor helps to set the mood. Imagine a dark room, with a bright dance floor and a disco ball filled with people wearing these. Play That Funky Music is echoing in your ears. Yeah, now we're having a party.

And, to help energize you so that you can "git yo groove on", snacks are a must. I found that fondue was a staple in the 70's. To label my different fondues, I created a small "glass" box using this fun mirror paper I found at JoAnn's and the CUBE die. I was hoping the box would mimic the look of a disco ball. The label is cut from the WRAPPERS die and topped with varying colored squares stamped with MINI SQUARES.

I think I just may have to pursue this party idea for my birthday. So, now that you're feeling all funkified, check out how the other girls are putting together their projects using Shapes & Backgrounds by reviewing the list at Clear & Simple Stamps.
