"The Little Seashell Tag" Flip Book (CSS Release Day 2)

Hi guys. I have a really special and sentimental treat to share with you today. We are kicking off the newest releases from Clear & Simple Stamps and there are a LOT of really great goodies about to come your way.

The sets being released today are called SEASIDE SUMMERIt includes sea critters, shells, and nautically themed objects. When I first saw this collection, I knew I had to have it! I love the beach and these sets make me nostalgic for hot, summery days and the crashing waves.. As I was thinking of ways to showcase these versatile stamps, I remembered a sweet little story that my 8-yr old daughter wrote this past year for one of her class projects. She came up with the story, we edited it together and she illustrated all of her pages. It just so happened that the characters in her stories were from the ocean. I thought it would be an adorable gift for her if I took her story and made it come to life in a tag flip book using these stamps.

May I read to you, "The Little Seashell" by Haley Miller? Alrighty then, hold onto your hats in suspense. Here we go!

(To help separate the evil scenes from the good ones,
I used a navy blue seaweed instead of a light blue)

(To create his bow tie, I used a small heart punch and put the points together)

(to create the swimming motion of the octopus,
I simply trimmed off the legs and stacked them all to the left)

THE END!

Alright, so I got a little chuckle out of the fact that her story was vaguely familiar to a popular Disney film, but who cares, it is still adorable! I've caught my youngest already flipping through this book at night before she goes to bed. I think she loves how the shells have become animated with a pair of googly eyes. To help it all come to life, I used a lot of pop dots too. I had a blast adding additional special touches, like the tulle for the veil on their wedding day. All of the wording was created on the computer, printed and then I used another soon to be released set from CSS to cut the banners.

I hope you've enjoyed this story and now you get to be inspired by the rest of the design team. Hop around to their blogs by clicking the links below. Remember, these stamps are now available for purchase in the Clear & Simple Stamps store. Have a great day!
