Yes, it has been a little while since I have jumped in and given the colors a go for The Play Date Cafe (which you'd think I would do more often since I AM the one coming up with said colors). But, today is a day I just couldn't miss. Earlier this week, we announced several new designers who will be joining the team. The unfortunate flip side of that is that they are taking somebody's place. Sadly, we are saying good-bye to FOUR, yes four, of our team today.
Allow me to sidetrack for a bit here folks. You may or may not know that I have been a part of a few challenge teams. I enjoyed all of them tremendously, but of all of them, The Play Date Cafe is the one that I cherish because I have developed some of my closest relationships here. You also may or may not know that our team chats behind the scenes between challenges. We share our lives, our obstacles, concerns, and we encourage each other. A few of these ladies, I have even had the delight to meet in person. So, when I say that I'm sad to say good-bye, I really mean it.
So, Colleen, Savannah, Jinny and Denise - I will truly miss you guys! And even though I know change is good, there will be a void that just can't be filled once you are gone. Sniff, sniff. That said, let's have a look at this week's bittersweet color challenge, shall we? (I never was good at good-byes)
I'm normally not a "layery" kinda gal, but I recently discovered it can be fun.{gasp}I had most of these items stuck in my stash from the Margarita collection by American Crafts. The flower in the background is a stamp from Technique Tuesday.
There are a lot of wonderful ladies playing along at The Play Date Cafe this week, so be sure to stop in and check it out. Let's give them the send off they deserve!
P.S. I just had to share this funny photo of Sav and I from when we met up in Orlando. We sure did laugh a lot that night, didn't we Sav?

I love the pic of you two! Your card is so much fun~I love the bright colors. ;)
ReplyDeleteThat is a great photo of you and Sav! I love your card, of course. The two layers of cut chevron paper looks like a grass skirt and gives your card so much movement!
ReplyDeleteLove this card, it makes me happy!
ReplyDeleteI like the way you used the fringe. I have some Martha Stewart scissors that I got to make fringe, so I may use the to make fringe for a card. Blessings!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely gorgeous layered card, Jaclyn!!
