The Busy Months of Summer

I mentioned yesterday that I have had a really busy week this past week. Do you ever get so overwhelmed with the amount of things you need to get done that you just don't do any of them? That was me. The thought of even starting, had my heart skipping beats. So instead, I just avoided it all. I know, not helpful. Please tell me I'm not the only one.

My kids are also out of school for the summer. Let's just say there has been some tension around the Miller household for the past couple of weeks. My son is really bored, and he's been very vocal about just how bored he is - mostly in the form of insults and back talk. I finally caved and got a few books at the library to help me understand how to handle this transition better. We are working towards some peace and harmony again, but it's going to take effort on everybody's end to make it work. I'm pretty sure God knew what He was doing when He allowed us to be parents. Parenting pushes every bit of my being - character, wisdom, patience, love and more. Unfortunately, I fear that my husband and I's love of sarcasm has been the pitfall. A lot of how our son speaks to us is him trying to be funny and sarcastic, but it really just comes off as rude and disrespectful. Lesson learned for mom and dad. We are currently trying to reduce the amount of sarcasm in our family.

On another note, I've been keeping VERY busy with projects for a magazine. I'm really excited about some things coming down the pipeline that you will be seeing in print over the next several months. I have been so blessed by this hobby!

That said, if you're interested, I've got a project appearing on the Clear & Simple Stamps app today. Here's a little peek at it for you. (oh, and I do love this one)

Here's to every new day that starts afresh, with new opportunities and challenges (hopefully filled with less sarcasm). Let's make it a great one!
