My youngest started tee ball this year. She is 5 and, oh man is she adorable in that little uniform. Some of you know that I decided to be a head coach this year. I helped as an assistant to my daughter's team last year and decided to take the plunge. When I was growing up, my dad always coached my softball team. I have a lot of fond memories of him during that time. It only seemed natural that I become an extension of what he taught me, to my own children. So, I am the proud leader of a team of 7 and 8 year old girls who call themselves the Clover Crush. It has definitely been a learning experience thus far and I've even had to dust off my pitching arm to throw these girls some strikes.
My son moved up to the Minor league this year where they are now able to steal bases, bunt, and the kids are the ones pitching instead of the coaches. They are 9 and 10 yr olds. His games have been really fun to watch. Earlier this week, he got to try pitching for the very first time. Boy was he giddy about that! When he heard he was gonna have a turn, he started grinning from ear to ear. In their league, the boys only pitch 2 innings, but I think they get pretty tired during that time. Ethan was able to strike out his very first two batters! I was a really proud mom. He struggled a bit more with his second inning, but overall, it wa a pretty good debut...and he is just so darn adorable in his uniform. I decided the other night that he kinda looks like Justin Bieber (after watching his performance on The Voice, love that show!)
Here he is in action.
And, just for the fun of it, here's a photo I snapped of my daughter riding her bike one evening. Yes, she is wearing footy pajamas with shoes. That's just a glimpse into her quirky personality and her fashion sense. :)
Thanks for stopping by today - I hope you've enjoyed a tiny look into what fills our Spring days.

What a blessing...you enjoy those kids! They grow up too fast (my oldest is 16 and I don't even know how that happened). I can't wait to hear how your coaching went. Thanks for sharing pics of your beautiful kids.
ReplyDeleteThat boy has some "sass" I.e. The girls will be flocking and pj's bike riding...not quirky to me!!!
ReplyDeleteI love these pictures Jax...capture your children so perfectly. And isn't it just amazingly to watch their confidence grow. I can feel your pride and love for them! Way to go on your son's pitching. Absolutely awesome!
