For my card, I pulled out my "Type" set from Hero Arts. In all of the photos that I'm seeing from CHA on Facebook, I've noticed that typewriters and typewriter keys are still very in. So, I thought it appropriate to use this set for her card.
This one's for you Cath! I still remember our delightful conversation at CHA last Fall and how things were about to change for you. Sending HUGE hugs your way and praying you are back on your feet in no time.
A big thanks to Virginia and Lorena for helping pull this hop together. Make sure you go back to the list of blogs on both of their blogs to see all of the ways everyone is loving on Cath.
And, since today is normally my "This Week in Parenting" post, I thought I would just share a quick tidbit. My 7-yr old has been begging me to show her how to sew. So, I thought it would be perfect to get her started by having her make a quilt out of scrap squares. She is one anxious little girl and I tell ya, she's got the gift because after about 3 tries, she was sewing a perfectly straight, quarter inch seam allowance. Here she is really concentrating on her work.
I can't wait to show you all the end result! Thanks for stopping in and have fun with the hop.

Love it, you are so creative!
ReplyDeleteYou always think outside the box, Jax! This is no exception!! LOVE love it! Thanks so much for being part of the hop. Please link up your post in my blog! xoxo

Fantastic card for Cath! I love the way you curled the typewriter paper. And don't let my 6 year old see this pic of your daughter or she'll be begging to use my sewing machine! I don't think I'm ready for that yet, but it looks like your little girl is a natural!
ReplyDeleteCute, cute card along with your cute DD sewing! She needs to come on over and teach me how! I have zero sewing skills, lol!!
ReplyDeleteWonderful card. Love that background, and the little one sewing is super cute!
ReplyDeleteLove this... I'm a huge texty fan and this is perfect.
ReplyDeleteI love, love, love your card for Cath. Love your choice of purple and orange, and that little twine bow just finishes it beautifully. The story and pic of your daughter brought a big warm smile to my face. That was me at just that age. I was always so inspired by fabrics and how I loved to piece them together. As an adult, I did a lot of travelling for business, and I would never leave a destination without finding a quilting store and coming home with fabric treasures. Thanks so much for the creation and the story.
ReplyDeleteSo much to love about your card! Love the slightly curled piece of paper in the typewriter (gotta love the little details)!
ReplyDeleteThat's so great that your daughter wants to sew! Love the look of concentration on her face, so cute!
